greffo

Guide

From download to first export

Ten steps, and only one asks for a password: the itsme® one, which stays between you and JustOnWeb.

01 Download

Download the file for your system from the Download page.

On Windows, two warnings are normal: Edge first holds the file back ("⋯" menu, "Keep", "Show more", "Keep anyway"), then SmartScreen may appear on launch ("More info", "Run anyway"). The detail, screen by screen, is on the Download page.

02 Install

On Windows: double-click greffo-setup-1.0.0.exe. One screen, one "Install" button, no question, no administrator rights. greffo starts by itself at the end.

To keep greffo one click away: drag the desktop shortcut onto the taskbar. Do not pin it from the icon that appears while greffo is running: that one is the browser greffo drives, and clicking it later would open an empty window instead of greffo.

On macOS: installing is a single drag. Here are the steps, in order.

  • Double-click the downloaded .dmg file. If macOS asks for your agreement before opening it, click "Agree".
  • A window opens, with the greffo icon next to the Applications folder: drag greffo onto the Applications folder. That is the whole installation.
  • Then open greffo from the Applications folder or the Launchpad. On first opening, macOS asks for a confirmation: click "Open".
  • To keep it one click away: open the Applications folder and drag greffo onto the Dock. Do not keep it in the Dock from the icon that appears while greffo is running: that one is the browser greffo drives.
  • You no longer need the .dmg file: eject it in the Finder, and bin the downloaded file.

03 First launch

A window asks where to keep your exported case files. Pick a place of your practice; if unsure, click Cancel, greffo picks for you. You can change later, from the ⚙ button of the panel.

greffo then asks for your licence key. Prefer to try first? Choose the free 14-day trial: greffo asks only for your name and your email address. No bank card.

These PDFs are court documents. If your professional secrecy requires it, avoid a location synchronised to a cloud (OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud).

04 Sign in to JustOnWeb

The browser opens JustOnWeb. Sign in with itsme®, as usual: greffo does not sign in for you, and your credentials never pass through it.

A small blue window appears at the bottom right of the page: that is greffo. Everything is driven from there.

05 Export a case file

Open your case file on JustOnWeb, until you see the list of documents. The panel shows "Case file detected" and a green button appears. Click it.

At the end, a report opens: what was downloaded, and where. You can print it or keep it as a record. A document that could not be retrieved is named in it; empty folders are flagged separately, recreated empty, never counted as missing.

To stop along the way: the "Stop the download" button. The export stops between two documents, and everything already on the disk stays. For another case file: open it on the site, then click again.

06 Come back to see what changed

On a case file already exported, the button becomes "🔍 Check for changes". The first click downloads nothing: it shows what changed since last time, new documents, documents renamed by the registry, documents removed from the file. Only the second click downloads, and only what is missing.

If nothing is new, greffo says so and opens no window.

07 File the case under your client

"XX99.99.999999-99" probably means nothing to you. Rename the folder and move it wherever you want, with your file explorer. greffo notices on the next run and offers to find it again: point at the folder in its new place, nothing is downloaded again.

No longer sure where you filed a case? The ⚙ button of the panel, then "My case files and their locations": the page lists every exported case file and its exact location, rebuilt the moment you open it.

08 Switch computer

On the old computer: ⚙, then "Switch computer", and the seat is given back. Machine lost, stolen or broken? From the new machine, greffo shows the seats in use and offers to release one. There is no one to contact.

Two changes are free, then one every thirty days. The screen shows the date of the next possible change.

09 Manage the subscription

The ⚙ button, then "My subscription": that is where the trial becomes a subscription (you keep the same key), where the number of seats changes, and where cancelling happens, online, at any time.

10 If something goes wrong

  • The site refuses the sign-in (error 401). Double-click "Reinitialiser", then start again and sign in.
  • "Session expired" during the export. Reload the JustOnWeb page, sign in again, click again. Everything already downloaded is kept.
  • "The location is not reachable". The external drive or network share is disconnected. Reconnect it, nothing is lost.
  • "A window is already open". Close the other greffo window, then start again.
  • The green button does not appear. Open your case file until the list of documents is visible. If the message does not change, reload the page.

You may run it as often as you like: what is already downloaded is never fetched again needlessly. And if nothing helps: support@holisdev.be.

What greffo never does
  • No document and no case name passes through a server: everything stays on your computer.
  • The only data exchanged is for the activation and the verification of your licence: your name, your key, and an identifier for this computer. Nothing from the content of your case files.
  • greffo never deletes a file on your disk, even when the document has disappeared from the case file on the site.
  • greffo does not sign in for you: you identify yourself.

That is our commitment.

The next case file can export itself in one click.

Download greffo and open the trial: fourteen days, no bank card.
